I am so happy that Dave won I picked him from day 1!!

He has a heart!! that's what cooking is all about!
He never tried to shaft his team members even though he wanted to win he went about it the way it should be done hard work and a team player! this is why Kevin did not win!
Although Kevin was a great chef
he tried to screw his team members to win.

I love this show and wish I could compete but I am not a chef I am a great cook to friends family and work only.

GOOD LUCK Dave!!!

I am glad David won. I was pulling for Kevin up until last nights show. David showed he was the better cook and person.
Congrats to David!!!!

Excellent post and right on the money. The right guy won and that is for sure. I am quite certain that Kevin will go far - no doubt about it. But he, Kevin was outclassed!

If nothing else, Kevin outclassed himself. By being so smug and acting like it was in the bag, while at the same time talking about winning by any means necessary, he only hurt himself. He let his arrogance and self-appointed pedestal get in the way of just focusing on a fair sportsman-like competition.

Like it or not, I believe the cooking ability was fairly close, and Dave's genuine humility, appreciation and respect makes him a better overall candidate and probably played a part in the decision.

i have worked in restaurants for many years and humility is not a good quality in a chef. Kevin was by far the better chef, more experienced, better palat (let's not forget that Dave didnt know it was spinach puree in the risotto). Dave seemed like he was stoned the whole time.

I believe that humility is a good trait for someone with room to grow and earning respect of those around them. Neither of them were flawless enough to be a fine dining exec. and I don't believe were ever in competition for that position.

Come on now. Far better? I hate these kinds of generalizations in place of factual info, especially when so grossly incorrect. They both have experience and ability to cook. And arguing palette nothing more than laughable.

I think they had 2 of the best palettes on the show, tho still far from perfect. Dave identified the winning ingredient in the identify and recreate challenge. And funny you mention the spinach, because in the blind taste challenge, Kevin the New England seafood man wrongfully identified CLAMS as SPINACH. Just...wow...by far better palette eh...

Dave was no saint. He was very nasty to Tenille from what I can remember ?

Yes you're right he was trashing her right and left --- maybe he was scared of her, her kitchen prowess, there were many times Dave battled w/a lack of confidence, which probably is what Ramsay wants--- a moldable ball of clay that he can direct. Kevin was too old for that

I don't recall him being mean to Tennille like that. I mean yeah they did have an exchange over the incident where Van was eliminated. But that was something that actually happened to cause tension, I think that was more genuine and temporary frustration than a mean spirited or catty desire to see her fail or be thrown under the bus.

Not saying he's a saint either, but probably he and Ariel were about the closest thing to it.
