    • Polygraph Test/Galvanic Skin Response?

Okie dokes. I have a question about polygraph tests.

In my physiology lab, we did an experiment with galvanic skin response. I was the test subject and the electrode that measured skin conductance has me confused. Does the Galvanic skin response amplifier measure the sweat on the finger or the electricity. I looked it up and it said that conductance was current divided by voltage. Or does it measure the perspiration of the finger.

I ask this because...my skin conductance went down on my lies....if anything, shouldn't it go up?

Thank you.

I have only finished year 12 but i studied the polygraph a little in my psychology class.

Galvanic skin response measure the electrical conductivity of the skin. Which means that when you sweat, the electrical current will be amplified or less intense (forgot which one), i think it should be amplified.

That is just my year 12 knowledge of that.
Hope it helps
