Thank you! It gives me hope. For so many years I fought against the stereotypes, I loved working with struggling families, Being apart of making life better for them, and  seeing them months or even years later, doing well, and greatful to me... I don't think many of them realized how greatful I was to them for allowing me to be apart  of thier families. I knew the system was bad, but never realized how bad until I became sick...we lost everything...not a day goes by that I am not greatful for what we have, and not a da y goes by that I don't miss helping people. I have tried to find my life lesson in this, there have been so may lesson, but the most important one...BE A VOICE..Life is about appriciating what you have, and giving to others what you can. Speak up, give, and understand we are all in this together, humanity, kindness, and love cost nothing, but gives so much! As we begin another year, I am greatful for this life I have been given,  even with all we have lost, because I am still here, I spent many nights trying t imagine how my kids  life would be with out me, it has been a long road, and a hard fight, but I am still blessed everyday when I see my son's smile in the morning, and his I love mom at night, this young man who left high school, gave up college to take care of his mom, what an amazing lesson in love, and AJ this wonderful little girl who's mother left her, and Me being blessed with the chance to see her grow and become this amazing young woman, I know she will do amazing things, GOD who is the one that is blessed? Yes we struggle but when you recived a homemade card from a child you choose to love and it says... Thank you mom, you make me strong...you see the truth of what life is. No greater strengh can be found than from a child who has learned to love again, she gives me strength!  It is not about the Television, great car, or money in the bank. It is about seeing humanity. My life is perfect, through the help I gave, I somehow managed to raise these wonderful young people...and I am so SO blessed to be able to say  everyday I AM SO PROUD OF YOU and I LOVE YOU.
If you are truly touched by this show...Don't just say it...Show it, show it everyday. Adopt  a family, buy fresh food for you local food pantry, start a program that asks no question, that is just there to help, Go to a homeless shelter and make a friend, help a woman whose lost everything to domestic violence...DO SOMETHING... remember it is not for them, it is for you, find your heart, find your compassion...and GIVE what you can...the lessons you will learn with change you for ever!
Greg- As you joked how spoiled your son was I laughed... the gift you gave your son, through this  experience is a gift he will treasure for ever...Thank you for giving us all hope.
